A few things

My darling class celebrated by un-birthday on Friday. Yea for un-birthdays.

Gavin finished up his first basketball camp. I know already that I am gonna be "that mom"

my two favorite parts in this clip are first when he points to chad after making the shot because what you can't hear him say to chad is "I am schooling these guys" and then second when he comes down he cleans the bottom of his shoes, just like the big boys. We are in trouble.

Milo now gets his own drinks of water.

And gavin asked me if he could add sugar to his cereal. He did not tell me however that he had not intention of putting milk in the bowl at all. {yes all the white you see is sugar not milk.}\

hump day

An eventful week I must say.

- Gavin finally decided that it was time to master a bike with NO training wheels.
- Also for some random reason his first baby tooth decided to fly the coup. Chad wanted Gav to pull it our himself but when that didn't work the master had to step in and I had to pull it out.

So now #1 is minus one tooth

- Culture Club was again a wonderful event. I ate Indian food for the first time and found out that even though I have hated it all my life, curry is really rather good, and I don't like lamb at all. Also we brushed up on our Hebrew and Yiddish by watching a foreign film about two people who keep two escaped convicts as guests just so they can get prego. {aside from my synopsis it was good}

- Spring Into This is tomorrow night and I have almost half of the things I need to do done, so that should make for a late night tonight. Yea!!

- Milo climbed out of his crib twice and so last night Chad had to take off one side and turn his crib into a bed so he would not fall when climbing out.. When Chad went to check on him he found this...

I guess he was climbing out so he could sleep on the floor.

Chad put him back in bed and when I got home I found this...And when I saw my baby sleeping in a bed rather than the crib I would like him to be in I did this...

I guess chad thought that taking a picture of me crying about the situation would be a good thing. Thank goodness he followed it with a hug.

Not bad for it only being Wednesday. Maybe the rest of the week will hold my kids deciding that growing up is not fun and they will stop doing all these milestones at once. What are they trying to do make me baby hungry?

Be there

A bunch of us have decided to throw this little shin-dig out there. I am not kidding when I say some of the cutest and freshest handmade items will be for sale. You will not want to miss this {does this sound like enough of an advertisment} Seriously though, come it will be tons of fun and you will find some great things.

So I am not sure why this post has taken some time. Long story short, me and this partner in crime decided to open up shop on Etsy. We were really particular about packaging. And this is what we came up with.

Wouldn't you love to have everything you order online come cutely wrapped.

callabo

The Grammys were yesterday. For those of you who did not tune in. I will re-cap.

The theme of the evening was definitely COLLABORATION. Seriously, there were some random sets but also some great ones. Sir Paul played an oldy but goody with Dave Grohl on the drums. And if you are in to that kind of thing Taylor Swift dueted it with Miley Cyrus.

Highlights included Robert Plant and Allison Krauss winning record and song of the year. Thank goodness the people that get to vote have good taste, cuz if Lil' Wayne would have won I might have thrown something at my T.V.

A bittersweet moment was Kings of Leon losing out to Coldplay. Sad because again Kings of Leon lost, but happy because they will still be too awesome of mainstream.

Also give MIA huge points for performing in what can only be described as a maternity ladybug costume.

That is the Grammy's in a nut shell, also worth mentioning BLink-182 annouced that they are getting back together. Yeah!

Valentines

So as much as we don't want to, every female is anticipating this coming Saturday. My question is what should I do for it. I always do something for Chad but this year I am not sure what to do. So I want some help from all of you. Please give me some ideas. Also what do you do for your kids, I want some cute ideas in that department as well. usually I have all this taken care of, but for some reason I am have creativity block.

C.C.

I know it was a couple of weeks ago but this one was worth it for me. The first ever culture club for the Utah county chapter kicked off a few weeks ago. What a better way to soak of some than at the BYU Art Museum. I left feeling totally inspired. Dan Steinhilber has an exhibit right now that everyone should see. It makes you see the inner art in everything.

I am never throwing away my dry cleaning hangers again.

Me and one of my C.C. sisters

This piece is HUGE it takes up one whole end of the room.

The best piece for sure. Although when you go you will probably get into trouble for this move.

In another exhibit I found this gem. I love art with history behind it.

In a nutshell it was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

I have been super excited to post about this for a while now.

These are pictures of our kitchen.

And these are pictures of our kitchen

AFTER

I love my kitchen now. This kitchen would still be stuck in 1992 if it weren'tfor our friend and favorite handyman.

blogworthy

I have not posted in quite a while for the mere fact that my computer contracted a virus. Why do people send out viruses. STUPID STUPID STUPID!

Anyway- I have noticed that I use this word a lot. Blogworthy is nothing more than something being of worth enough to blog about. Here are a few things that I think are blogworthy:

1* Rummikub

I have never felt so much the geriatric, but when I am playing this game. And I love it. I have spent many a late hour with these little tiles.

2*Hello Yogurt
I crave this stuff on an hourly basis. I am so grateful to my Cambodian friend for staying open till 11:00 every night. Obviously there are others that have this obsession as well.

3* Pinky rings.

These are not for gangstas and pimps any more ladies. I know we all have a stash of toe rings that went out about 8 years ago, so now is the time to ornate that small finger. My choice is a blue eternity ring I got for my birthday 6 years ago and I love how it looks. Try it and trust me you will love it too.

Christmas List

I love Opening Ceremony and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this darling coat. So if anyone out there needs to get me something for Christmas and is stumped, here you go.

Also, since I have been looking for some black boots these are also on my list.

3.12.08

cocoa buzz

I love cocoa. It is the best thing ever. I drink it year round no matter the weather. My gift to all of you is to let you in on the four best {in my opinion of course}

First would have to be homemade. For the sake of convenience I use the recipe on the side of the Hershey's baking cocoa box and then I add cream.

The rest are in no order because I love all three and crave them all the same.

I NEVER allow cocoa mix in the house, but a couple of weeks ago I saw this mix at the store and had to try it. It is Stephens Cherry Chocolate Gourmet cocoa. When I first made it I added cream of course and it was way to rich, this is so good you only need to add hot water.

Next on my list was introduced to my by a friend It is 7-eleven Peppermint White Hot Chocolate. I know you are thinking-Gross, 7-eleven. But I swear it is amazing, it is so thick and creamy and it has just the right amount of peppermint.

Last has been on my list since I was little. It is Snicker doodle Hot Chocolate at Juice and Java. Sorry for those of you who don't live in Utah cause you are out of luck and it is a shame because this hot chocolate is so amazing I drive 30 minutes to buy it.

So there you have it, my list of the most wonderful Cocoa's. Try one {or all of them} trust me your taste buds will thank me.

return

A working girl once again. I find myself with no time to blog at all. While I am at work I am reminded of things that I need to blog about, birthdays (which will be coming shortly) concerts, holidays, outings. As I don't have to time to write a post on each one. I offer you a play-by-play of my events over the past month.

First my little sister Savanna has decided to try her skill at the art of Viola, yes that is the same instrument I play, Let me tell you it was only a LITTLE weird to go to her recital and watch her play, and remembering myself 12 years ago.

Next, though I have been swimming every week for a while now, one of the gals in my group finally had the wonderful idea to bring a camera to document the outing.

The top picture is as follows left to right: Val, Collette, Me, Emily. bottom pic: Me, Val, Emily, Collette

Third and last for tonight. Thanksgiving was wonderful, my family ended the night by cramming 14 people into a Honda Accord Hatchback to look at the Spanish Fork Lights. Don't believe me here you go.

I would have to say these two got the best deal as far as seating was concerned.

I guess that about covers it. Until next time.

admiring

If I could right now I would buy some new art for my walls. Here are a few I have been eyeing on etsy. What do you think?

What about giving thanks

Why is it that we go from Halloween to Christmas. Last time I checked there is tremendous holiday in the middle. Hello THANKSGIVING!!! I love Christmas just as much as anyone but I like to give everyone their fair share and so I am taking a stand to not overlook an important celebration. I will not put up my Christmas deco until AFTER the 27th and I will not listen to Holiday tunes until after that day as well. Join me to embrace what the pilgrims and the Indians worked so hard for, the chance that we have to stuff our faces.

Smell my feet

All Hallows Eve was a success this year.

Every year the Johansson Family has a theme, well 5 year olds don't like to compromise and so we had two themes this year. Chad was CHewbacca and Gavin was Han Solo. I was Cruella De Vil and Milo was a Dalmatian

We could never get gavin to stop for one minute to take a picture. So imagine Han solo next to Chewbacca

Gav in the new cast of Thriller

This picture does not do Milos dance moves justice, imagine him stomping his foot and punching the air. see much cuter.

The one and only family Halloween picture. Until next year.
