milo

I guess when you are tired it does not matter where you are and how big the donut you were eating is.

milo

Milo and his randomness just keeps going and going. A few examples...

Milo wants an iTouch for Christmas. Since when did 3 year old a) know anything about electronics and b) know enough that they want one for Christmas.

We went on a train ride two nights ago to see Santa and when the engineer asked Milo who we were going to see he said "Jesus" and was a little upset when I told him we would not be seeing baby Jesus just Santa. Go figure, at least his heart is in the right place.

August was playing by Milo on the floor yesterday and I guess was bugging him because Milo turned to him and said, Gus, you are irritating me.

When Milo get's home from anything, no matter what time of day, the first thing he does is get back into his pajama's. Most days the only way I can get him dressed is to tell him when we get home he can put his PJ's back on.

#2

My second child came with as many quirks as the day is long, here are a few new ones.
Milo loves August and when Gus is sleeping I have to watch Milo very carefully or this happens

I love how August looks a little confused with the situation.

Also did I mention that Milo loves Star Wars. Maybe a little to much?

Lastly, for the past four days this is all Milo has worn. I can't get it off the kid.

double trouble 2

I have mentioned before that when Dempsey and Milo get together they are less like cousins and more like partners in crime. case in point. Gavin got out of the bathtub {and didn't drain the water} and when I went in to drain it this is what I saw this...

followed by this

moral of the story is, drain the tub!

random

When we told my Aunt that we were naming our second child Milo, she told us that on the eastern side of the world where she lives everyone drinks Milo, fast forward two years later when she came for a visit and the sweetheart that she is brought Milo some Milo.

Milo especially liked eating the Milo candy bar.

I don't do Birthday posts anymore because I have to many family members and I can't keep up but I did want to tell everyone that my darling sister Celeste is officially 16 today!!! And as a side note she already has two dates lined up for this weekend.

Another thing- If you are like me, you now are locked in to a nine year subscription to LUCKY due to the fact that all your favorite magazines shut down and they have transferred your subscription.
I have to say I was really liking last months fashion spread.

There is nothing I hate more than seeing a spread you LOVE and realizing you will have to go shopping to achieve any one look. I love when I can shop from my closet!
Seriously I think everyone can pull off these classic looks! See the full layout here.

recess, naps and walks

Milo cries everyday when Gavin leaves for school. And when I go down to help at the school, Milo feels right at home sitting with all the kids for carpet time or at a table to "help" with some activity. Friday was an extra special day though because he got to have recess with the kindergarten class too. How is he going to wait one more year for preschool?

Also I don't know why my children do this but they all have.
This is what August looks like when he awake

And this is what he looks like when he is asleep.
He can't fall asleep unless his face is covered.

Lastly-
Milo and Dempsey are officially Double Trouble. They were playing in the yard and decided to take a walk down to the park next to Tiffs house, the only thing is they didn't tell us and when we found them they were those two little dots you see by the playground.

room with a view

I finally finished G & M's room.
I wanted something that felt comfortable to a 2 yr old, something that my almost 7 yr old liked, and of course something that was my taste. Here it is...

Remember this, I was happy with how it turned out. I had to have the railing and ladder made.

Pictures are from here. Desk is vintage. Table is from IKEA and chairs are vintage. Coat rack I bought at last years this. Bulletin board I made.
I couldn't find a bookshelf I loved, so I hung a bunch of shelves instead.

sweet dreams

Milo has NEVER been a good sleeper. the longest nap he would take as an infant was 20 mins and after we had his tonsils and adenoids removed we thought that would fix it. On average he falls asleep around 12:00 midnight every night with several stirrings throughout the night for drinks and such. So after much frustration, and several episodes of Supernanny I decided to switch tactics. the method used by Supernanny took a 4yr old who hit, kicked and swore at his mom 1hr to fall asleep the first night. How it works is after they get out of bed you pick them up, without looking at them or talking to them and out them into bed. Easy enough, I thought this plan would have Milo to sleep 30 mins after I first told him goodnight seeing as the kid on the show was a terror and Milo just doesn't want to go to bed. BOY WAS I WRONG! 2 hrs and 12 mins later he FINALLY was asleep... up in Gavin's bed.
Hopefully tonight will go a little smoother, I am taking the boys to classic skating tonight so maybe it will wear him out a little. Fingers crossed.
